To be honest, I'm not gonna spend the RM200 vouchers to buy school related books, because usually one Physics/Radiation Sciences book costs more than RM200, and I won't be needing any since next semester I'm only doing research. But I'm not gonna go and buy calculators and then sell it back to people (haha siapa tau idea ni datang dari mana memang terer). I might not make it to Mid Valley's MPH before the 22nd (they're relocating so they're having a 70% sale!) so I'll be heading to Popular branches with my Popular card for more ~discounts (such a cheapskate) to spend the RM200 on novels. Squee! *rolls around in imaginary books*

Basically it's for my New Year's Resolution, I promised to read at least one book per month, and if I couldn't, at least 10 books this year. Remember this post? (who am I kidding, of course not) I only have the last Millennium series left, and I'm currently reading it. So thanks to kerajaan Malaysia I can fulfil my resolution without having to spend too much of my own money. It might not be a school book but at least I'm still gonna read, right? ;)

This morning I saw a status update by my kid neighbour on facebook, wondering if she really should go to MRSM if she was accepted. She didn't wanna go but her parents are making her, and she sounded like it was currently the BIGGEST problem in the world.

Not sure sejak bila aku jadi movie junkie, but around this time last year I made a post about most anticipated album in 2011, but this year I actually have zero new music to look forward to. *sadface* But! I have a few movies that I. Just. Can't. Wait. To. See. Excited sangaaaaaattt!

1. The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, February 2012

Synopsis:
A discredited journalist and a mysterious computer hacker discover that even the wealthiest families have skeletons in their closets while working to solve the mystery of a 40-year-old murder.

Kenapa aku excited:
Movie ni dah release kat banyak negara tapi Asean countries dapat lambat sikit. Movie ni adaptation dari novel of the same title, also sebelum ni dah ada Swedish version tapi sangat crappy. Asalnya masa aku beli novel ni dan adik beradik dia (The Millennium Series) aku tak tau pun yang Hollywood nak buat movie dia. Novel ini memang sangat best, also Daniel Craig (James Bond)!! and Rooney Mara as the myterious Lisbeth Salander! Simply can't wait. Especially sejak selalu nampak spoiler kat Tumblr.

Kenapa aku excited:
Movie ni pun diadaptasi dari novel of the same title. Aku suka movie2 dari novel ni sebab reading experience dengan watching motion pictures ni berbeza. It's like my own private kink lah. Unfortunately aku tak penah baca lagi novel ni, and hopefully I could lay a hand on a copy of it before the movie comes out.

Titanic! In 3D! Also because I'm a sap who actually cried when I first watched this movie. I just love it.

Kenapa aku excited:
ALL THE SUPERHEROES IN THE WORLD. Okay, bukan la sume superhero, sebab Spidey takde, Batman takde. Tapi tapi tapiiiiiiiii Tony Stark! Steve Rogers! Thor! The hulk (aku tak ingat nama die yang penting dalam movie ni bukan eric bana) and Nick Fury! All in one movie~~ rasa nak nanges sebab teruja sesangat, kalau aku electron dah ejected and release x-ray dah ni. I bet movie ni mesti lawak dry gile ok, Tony combine dengan Thor! Hah sudah le tu. Penat dah flailing.

Ape aku cakap tadi? Spidey takde? Adeeeeeeee. Dalam movie lain je. Ok aku excited giler2 punye sebab ANDREW GARFIELDDDDDDDDDDDDD. Sekian. Aku harap remake spidey movie ni better dari Toby punya version yang terlalu clichéd and entah la, plot die sedikit merepek. Spidey tu dah merepek la memang kan tapi buat la movie elok2 sikit kot. I believe in Andrew Garfield, so far promo stills look promising.

Kenapa aku excited:
Seems like 2012 is a year for superheroes. Batman pun ade!! ALso aku excited sebab batman movie kali ni ade cast yang sangat awesome. Christian Bale tu memang la, batmaaaaaan. And then ade Anne Hathaway (kalau cakap Princess Diaries mesti ramai tau), Gary Oldman (Sirius Black kenai kan?) and then TOM HARDY AND JGL (Joseph Gordon-Levitt pada yang tak biasa dengan JGL). T-HARD and JGL IN A MOVIE TOGETHER. AGAIN. DYING FROM ANTICIPATION. Okay kalau nak tau diorang ni ade gak dalam movie Inception (2010), chemistry diorang memang awesome.

Part I aku belum tengok sebab malas nak tunggu lama2 untuk tengok sambungan die. Honestly, Breaking Dawn je novel Twilight series yang aku tak baca sampai habis, sebab tak boleh handle kemerepekkannye. Aku tengok Twilight dan yang sewaktu dengannye ni pun sebab I'm a big fan of Robert and Kristen.

I think when I ended 2010 I was in a much better place. I was on a semester break and I was just starting my final year project for my BSc. It was.. pretty sweet. This year I'm all stressed out because exam sudah dekat!

I ATTENDED MY GRADUATION CEREMONY. HECK YES.

2. Did you keep your New Year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
In some ways I did. Also yes! I will read more books next year! I'm aiming for 10 at least.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
My cousin's wife. (lol same answer last year)

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Nope.

5. What countries did you visit?
None other than Malaysia :/

6. What would you like to have in 2012 that you lacked in 2011?
MONEY. (also sama macam last year $____$)

7. What date from 2011 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
It was supposed to be my graduation day. but I already forgot the date. but not the memories :)

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
I completed my BSc, Alhamdulillah. It was so awesome.

9. What was your biggest failure?
My promise to regularly update my blogs.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury? Anything bad?
No, but currently I have something on my neck macam lymph node swelling or something. I'm not gonna die or anything right? D:

11. What were the best things you bought?
My pretty white BlackBerry, I cannot live without it anymore :)

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Definitely mine. I think I grew up a lot this year, and I've became a lot more independent. I'm so proud of myself.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
I cannot talk about this publicly, thanks.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Ugh. First of all, I don't really have much money this year. First half of the year I was still funded by JPA and then biasiswa PAMA saje so mostly money went to food and important stuff. AND KEDAI PHOTOSTAT.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Of course my graduation day :) And also the day I registered for my MSc. I couldnt wait to be back in Penang. I love this place.

16. What song/s will always remind you of 2010?
Ready To Go - Panic! at the Disco. the video is just so fun!!

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. Happier or sadder? Happier
ii. Thinner or fatter? thinner. i lost a bit of weight. nothing bad though!!

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Reading. I did read a lot of books this year, and I'm proud of that. I just know that I can read more. And also I need to start reading something that's not just fictional, maybe something more philosophical?

WHINING. I whine a lot. People who follows me on Twitter knows this :(

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
I slept and study and ate when I felt hungry.

HIMYM season 7, Leverage season 4, QAF all seasons!! Gossip Girls season 4 and 5. I really actually love them all.

I dont hate anybody. It only eats me from the inside.

Invisible Monsters. Seriously the best. If you're a PATD fan :)

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
D.R.U.G.S. the bestest.

The Social Network. Ok technically that movie is 2010 but I just watched it this year, so.

I did nothing special, not that anybody cared. I turned 23.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Being independent and selfish. I should've given myself a lot more credit and love myself more. I'm sure I'd be a lot happier. I thought too much about what people think of me, that is my biggest mistake ever.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2011?
Very ladylike during the first half of the year, and then I dress maturely because I'm trying not to look like an undergrad, okay? but i totally failed.

Online friends, Twitter and my blogs.

JESSE EISENBERG. okay this just happened like, for a few weeks but whateverrrrr he's just adorable and awesome and brilliant and neurotic and i love him.

Not into politics, but the whole LYNAS thing in Pahang ticks me off.

A couple of people. I never told them though, it's gonna be embarrassing.

Some new course mates! :D

I cannot say I won't, but shhh if you're reading this, I really really want to continue going to school for doctorate.

I don't know if I'll be looking but I'll welcome any new one that will come. Heeeeeee.

3. New home?
I hope so. Not home where my parents live, but my own.

4. What will you do different in 2012?
The way I live my life. I hope I can bring myself closer to my Maker and try to do things the way that will make me, and not other people, happy.

Read more. Eat healthier.

Bawling my eyes out every time I face hardships. I will face it bravely.

Not yet. But I have one maybe in February.

Dijadikan cerita, ada seorang student kat USM ni. Name die Fatin. Die student master research kat school kimia. Fatin ni hidup die sangat happy dan rileks. Jadual harian die adelah tengok movie, facebook, dating dan tidur sebelum pukul 12 malam.

Ade lagi sorang student USM. Nama die Fatehah. Die student master mixed mode kat school fizik. Hari2 hidup die bangun pagi2 buta, pegi kelas sampai petang, buat assignment dan lab report di malam hari dan jadi zombie sampai pukul 2-3 pagi.

Fatin dan Fatehah ni adelah room mate, so obviously Fatehah ni sangat jeles dengan kehidupan bahgia Fatin, okay.

Okeh, tamat sudah bedtime story.

Tadi dia tanye aku, 'exam bila?' aku pun cakap, 'next month.'

Next month, eh? Tahun depan la kan? Tahun depan tu lagi berapa hari je nak sampai dah, cik kak oi. Bila aku fikir balik, rase nervous semacam je sebab aku memang tak prepare.

And then kemungkinan besar, final exam kali ni is my last one, sebab sem depan aku cuma buat dissertation je, takde exam lagi dah. Benda yang buat aku sangat restless is the fact that my gpa this semester is actually my cgpa for my master's degree. Our dissertation will only be marked as 'pass' or 'fail', no gpa.

5 subjects: 4 final exams and 1 practical. If I want to pursue my study some more I need to get at least 3.00. Sounds easy, but with the papers I'm taking, I'm not even sure if I can get that.

..umur aku mencecah ___ tahun :p

Ye, dah bertambah dewasa, jadi aku tak expect orang akan celebrate, surprise dengan cake, bagi hadiah bebanyak macam masa kecik2 dulu. Zaman dulu birthday celebration adelah something yang aku tunggu-tunggu setiap tahun, senang cakap Oktober adelah bulan favorite, di mana abah selalu tanya 'nak hadiah ape?'

'Nak kotak pensel baru!' (zaman tak matang skolah tadika)

'Nak teddy bear besar!' (zaman mak sambung blaja jauh kat penang, jadi budak loner)

'Nak roller blade! (zaman tomboy)

'Nak walkman!' (zaman dah pandai mintak benda mahal)

Sume yang aku mintak di atas dah dapat ye, jangan jeles, anak bongsu memang macam ni.

Bila dah besar aku takde la mintak2 lagi, (malu kot) (ade jugak bagi hint tapi orang pura2 tak faham) jadi bila ada orang bagi hadiah, tak kire la sekecik mane, semurah mane, aku appreciate sesangat.

Time konvo haritu abang pass hadiah kat mak sebab die dengan Kimah tak dapat datang, pastu bila aku call cakap thanks, abang kata, 'tu hadiah konvo je, hadiah besday lain tau.' Hati terus berbunga2 sebab nak dapat hadiah kan! Last week abah cakap 'ada barang sampai, tak tau ape lembut2 ni kat dalam dia' so aku pun cakap bukak la. abah kata abang pos hadiah, so aku suruh abah pos kat aku (buat penat posmen je anto dari KL-Johor pastu Johor-Penang, abang pun satu tak pos terus kat aku). Benda nye sampai minggu lepas lagi tapi sebab busy sangat, aku tak sempat nak pergi office desa sebelum die tutup setiap hari.

Harini takde kelas petang, so aku pun pegi la ambik. Dapat la ini:

Late to the Tangled party

Last week ade la sorang member kat Twitter ni tetiba obsess dengan Tangled, so sebab masa tu macam bosan2, aku pun try la download citer ni kan. Aku tak minat sangat nak tengok sebab die katun, tapi sebab Disney aku layan jek. Dah download lama tapi tadi baru tengok and oh dear, menyesal tak tengok awal2 okay sebab citer ni memang best dan kelakar giler. Jalan cerita dia agak lari dari cerita Rapunzel yang original, tapi still ada bits2 yang still remain.

Point aku start post ni bukan nak buat review movie tu ke hape, rasenye dah terlambat nak buat review kot. Just nak gushing over the cute guy in it, Flynn Rider. Berbeza dengan Disney movies lain yang hero nye putera raja dari kingdom mane2 (kecuali Aladdin, si budak tepi jalan), hero cerita Tangled ni is a thief! (bad boys are the best)

Flynn atau nama sebenar die (nama sebenar dalam cerita Tangled tu jugak) Eugene ni sangat ler kelakar, budget macho dan perangai bukan2 je.

Paling best skali, mase aku ngah masyuk2 Bing gambar Flynn ni, terjumpa beberape cosplay and halloween pics of people dressed up as Flynn and this one is my personal favorite! Sangat serupa!

'sup guys :)

Dah sebulan rupenye aku konvo, and sebulan jugak la tak update blog ni. Dah brape kali try nak update, tapi tak berkesempatan. Nak kata busy.. memang la busy sesangat 2 3 minggu kebelakangan ni dengan quiz/test/assignment segala. Rasanye zaman matriks yang pack dulu pun tak seteruk sekarang. My cousin said, biase la, wat master memang macam ni, lagi la aku punye credit full 20 unit. Penatnye cume tuhan jek yang tau (dan jugak classmate2 yang mengalami nasib yang same).

Life Update

It's surprising how I quickly I get used to this place. Even masa baru masuk last week rasa macam susah nak get around campus, tapi lepas 4 hari pegi kuliah, aku dah pandai naik bas, dah tau cari lab/bilik seminar, dah tau hala tuju. Life is pretty great, minus the homework/assignments/tutorials. Makanan kat kafe pun sangat murah, tak macam kat kampus lama yang cume tau nak rip off duit student je

On the other hand, next week is going to be very eventful for me, starting hari ahad, nak pergi ambil jubah untuk konvo. Selasa ada lab (first time, nervous!) so terpaksa skip rehearsal konvo. Rabu ada test untuk Radiation Protection I, family datang untuk konvo celebration, passing jubah2 konvo pada orang yang kirim and finally hari Khamis: KONVO!

Can't wait! Can't wait for the ceremony and can't wait to see my friends!

I know the book is titled 'Harry Potter' but I'd love it if the story didn't revolve around Potter alone. It'd be nice to see more about other characters, not just focused on Potter (and his lameness).

Semalam is the 5th day I've been in Penang. Dah puas menjelajahi kampus, we planned to go shopping pulak. At first nak pegi Queensbay tapi akhirnye decide pegi BJ Complex je. Later that afternoon, Yanti ajak keluar dengan Ezzah, rumet dia masa kat matrix, naik keter jalan2 around Penang. So we went to Padang Kota, tempat makan yang sangat best, untuk makan2.

Last night was the second time I went there. Makanan kat sini agak mahal, tapi berbaloi2 ok sebab sangat sedap!

Lepas makan, Ezzah bawa kitorang jalan around the island. Bukan blaja jalan pun, just pusing2 tengok tempat2 yang cambest kat sini. Then naik Batu Ferringhi and we stopped at Hard Rock Hotel sebab nak amek gambar.

Dalam gambar ni tak nampak sangat but that's supposed to be Michael Jackson duduk di singgahsananya. xD Ape pun, thanks a million to Ezzah sebab bawa kami jenjalan and blanje makan pasembor yang sangat sedap ^___^

Esok kelas dah start! Hopefully everything will go smoothly for my friends and I. :)

p.s. - I need to invest in a new camera because my phone cam is super shitty. Brand and model ape yang best ek?

Mendaki Puncak Saujana

Sekarang ni aku dah berada di usm main campus, penang sebab sambung master. kelas start hari isnin, tapi kami dah daftar selasa lepas lagi, so dari hari rabu sampai hari ni kami sume asyik jalan je demi membiasekan diri ngan campus yang luas dan complicated ni. maklumla, mase degree dulu duduk campus keciiiiik je.

Hari selasa tu daftar memang kelam kabut, tak tau la macamane diorang susun kan, orang yang start awal pagi habis tengahari, yang datang lambat sikit habis pukul 7 pun ade. kesian kat family yang hantar sebenarnye, penat gile menunggu. aku yang habis pukul 2 ni pun macam nak terbalikkan meja pendaftaran tu, bayangkan orang lain yang terpaksa beratur sampai petang.

Hari Rabu pulak, kitorang jenjalan gi Tesco sebab ade yang nak beli barang2 keperluan yang still takde lagi. setengah hari jugak la merayap kat sane, pastu malam keluar lagi gi makan kat tepi blok hostel ni. Makan mee goreng mamak tergezut gile sebab pedas yang teramat sangat. kedekut betul orang yang tanam cili tu ye~

And then semalam kitorang pagi2 lagi dah menapak pegi PPKT sebab nak daftar wifi usm. Pasal main redah je, jadinye sesat. sempat la singgah school of physics sebelum sampai ppkt tu. Lepas siap daftar (kejap je pun, perjalanan nye yang lame :P) kitorang gi umah sewa nisah n eton kat depan usm. lepak2 sane sampai petang pastu malam keluar lagi gi makan. tak pedas pulak makanan semalam tu, agaknye sia tukar pembekal cili kot!

Pagi tadi sekali lagi kami bangun pepagi dan menapak gi dewan kuliah SK III sebab ade orientasi untuk postgrad students. Bukan orientasi macam mase undergrad berlari larian sane sini dan di-torture, cume diorang bagi talk je. patutnye sampai ke petang tapi sepanjang pagi tu, sume benda dia cakap kami dah tau, ye la ex-usm jugak kan.. so waktu lunch break kami pun cabut la balik.. petang tadi gi try makan kat cafe Restu pulak. Makanan kat cafe sini memang la murah nak banding kan dengan health campus. suke3.

Esok nak merayap keluar lagi, bukan nak shopping sangat pun, just nak belaja jalan kat penang ni kot..? :D

p.s. - sori la ye pasai takde gambo2 sebab aku ni bukan camwhore. lulz. len kali ah.

Last year I made this post about my most anticipated album in 2011, and after about 2/3 of the year has passed, only two out of the five albums has officially came out. I decided to make this post today because Cobra Starship is streaming their new album Night Shades on facebook! That makes three out of five albums out!

I'm still listening to the album right now, but only 6 of the songs are new to me because they'd been releasing a few songs prior to the album release. Just like previous Cobra albums, I love this just as much. It's very very different from their older stuff but it's a fresh, acceptable change for me.

Like many other teenage girls of early 2000s, Lizzie Mcguire was one of my favorite tv shows. Tipu la kalau girls at that time tak pernah tengok this show, especially after the Lizzie Mcguire movie came out. Even my dad suka tengok this movie, okay.

ok, ni abah punya favorite part of the movie.

I'm not the biggest Hilary Duff fan, but even until now kalau they play this movie on Disney channel, I'd take some time to watch it. It's like reminiscing bittersweet childhood memories lah.
And then beberapa hari lepas, kecoh on the news that Hilary Duff announced her pregnancy dengan husband dia Mike Comrie (sp.?) and I was kind of freaked out.

Bukan apa, I still remember Hilary as a teenage girl, not someone married and having a family already. It is SANGAT weird. She's only a year or so older than me, and this news came to me as a reminder of how old I am already, not a teenage girl that dreams about Disney ending for everything in her life anymore.

Ahaha this is kind of embarrassing to admit but I did cry at some points when I was reading the books.

I don't remember them all but the first time I cried was when Harry brought back Cedric's body during the Triwizard Tournament and his father cried out "my son! my son!" or something along that line. I cried even more when it happened in the movie lol~

Another ~crying moment was when Fred died in the Hogwarts Battle. I don't remember when exactly I cried, but in the movie it was hard not to when the trio returned to find out Fred had died and all the wailing and crying. You can't not cry, omg ;___;

Risiko kecik ke besa tu lain cerita, tapi mesti berisiko, dan membuatkan blood pressure naik and sume stress hormones released.

Maybe aku ni dah biasa hidup senang, tak perlu buat life changing decisions, hidup yang konservatif, anak manja tak perlu berdikari. Maybe dah sampai masa untuk aku keluar dari protection bubble ni dan face the real world out there.

I've briefly talked about fanfics in this post. While I'm pretty invested in bandom fanfics, I don't read HP fanfics a lot, mainly because there's no satisfaction in reading fictions written by amateurs or fans, after you read HP through a great writer like JK Rowling. Plus, a lot of HP writers are kind of young, so the fictions are a little childish for my taste.

When I feel like reading HP fanfics, I go to fanfiction.net Other reasons why I'm not into HP fanfics is before the series ended, we didnt know a lot of things about the future of the story and people made up a lot of stuff that are sometimes too ridiculous. And I'm not into AUs (Alternate Universes) because fictional character inside another fictional world? Inception much?

The Remus Lupins

I haven't been listening to them much for the last couple of years but I used to love wizard rock (better known as wrock). I dont have any favorite band but my favoritest song is Snape by The Remus Lupins. I think the people who started wrock are brilliant now that it has evolved internationally because come to think about it, who would've thought people would actually form a band and write songs about a fandom?

It's unbelievable that they perform concerts, have CDs, do documentaries, etc. makes wrock even more better. Even they're not all good musicians but I appreciate them for putting their effort and spending time to make the HP fandom more colorful and interesting.

The Pros and Cons of Tumblr

Sebelum ni aku pernah buat a post about The Pros and Cons of Twitter, so sekarang aku nak cerita mengenai Tumblr pula. I've had a tumblr account for years, tapi sampai sekarang aku still tak berjaya sesuaikan diri dengan gaya micro blogging tumblr ni, compared to twitter and facebook. Ni bukan pendapat professional, okay, just another rant from a tumblr user.

Apa yang bagus pasal Tumblr:

Technically dia memang best, boleh support images, videos, songs; unlike Twitter. It is a lot more simpler than blogger or wordpress but still has editable layout and templates and a lot easier to navigate.
Contents pula depends on why you're tumblring. Like me, I'm there for pretty photos, lols, harry potter and bandom. The contents are great and as we can reblog on tumblr, the content spread very fast. A lot of anime/manga/korean/japan/tv shows stuff are over there too, it seems like every fandom exists in tumblr.

Apa yang tak best:

The dashboard. Function hampir sama macam Blogger, tapi sebab most tumblr user dont use the 'read more' option (sebab mostly ia defeat the purpose of blogging in tumblr) you have to scroll through sepanjang-panjang post seseorang tu. And then in tumblr, people make 297489265892562592 posts per day so if you're following for instance 50 people, everyday you have to go through pages and pages of posts to catch up with them.
The Drama. Tumblr punya drama memang hebat, sebab mereka suka troll orang yang mereka tak suka kat tumblr and since you can see the posts your friend makes about other people, terpaksa la jugak tahu mengenai drama yang sedang melarat dalam a certain fandom tu. kadang kala dia jadi macam twitter tapi at least in twitter you cant see when the person you;re following @replies to someone you dont follow.
The Slang and meme. Tumblr ni macam ada language sendiri. Contohnya this Forever Alone meme:If you get it then no problem, if not, confirmed tak ada tumblr. xD It's hard to adapt to tumblr sebab semua orang kat tumblr tu dah faham dengan tumblr's unsaid rules and language. Penggunaan Urban Dictionary kadang-kadang penting dalam penggunaan tumblr ni.
The use of gif images. Another habit of tumblrists: expressing themselves using gifs. Contoh bila annoyed dengan tumblr drama:

It's fun, to be honest but it's hard to catch up with this style so I put it as a con.Despite that it has more cons than pros to me, I still use tumblr because it provides fast information. I will never be pengguna tubmblr yang tegar though. Twitter is still my most favorite platform for microblogging.

Day 4: Your favorite movie

I'm gonna be biased and say the fifth movie, HP and the Half Blood Prince. The reason if obvious if you knew me, that movie revolves around Draco. Some would say the movie didn't do the book justice, but I think it has the best plot progress compared to rest. The mystery; who is the half blood Prince and who's been trying to kill Dumbledore and then all the angst during Dumbledore's murder were portrayed quite brilliantly. It doesnt hurt that your Tom Riddle is a very cute boy too :)

Day 3: What house would you be in?

If I actualfax went to Hogwarts, I'll be thrown into Hufflepuff for sure, because if you're not evil, smart or brave, Hufflepuff is the place for you, the melting pot of the ~~losers~~ loyals. hahahahah. But it's Cedric Diggory's house, I should be proud! Oh well, but that's just me. I've tried sorting quizzes, games and stuff, but in HexRPG, they made me write an essay about myself. So I feel like this is more accurate.
They sorted me into Ravenclaw, maybe because I talk a lot about school stuff just cause it's the only thing that happened in my life during the time I wrote the essay. People in that house were kind of intimidating, they're mostly geniuses, talk a lot about books, debates about current issues. I feel honored to be given the chance to be in Ravenclaw, truthfully.

Invisible Monsters - Chuck Palahniuk

This is another Palahniuk's novel that I finished so quickly, after Fight Club. Not long ago, I read an info about Panic! that the song Time To Dance by Panic! at the Disco was about this novel, so I went looking for it but Palahniuk's works are so hard to find in Malaysia and then suddenly a couple of months ago I came home to find this book is already mine! :') Thanks to my dearest cousin.

Needless to say, a lot of the lyrics came from this novel. The novel has the usual Palahniuk style that I find very interesting and cynical. The story is written in the first person from Shannon’s point of view, an ex model who was shot in the face and lost her jaw and hence her ability to speak.

Now unable to speak, the narrator still gets attention, but only because she is hideous, like a monster. Came Brandy Alexander, a transgendered person, only one surgery away from being a real woman. Brandy showed her how to face the world while putting her ugliness behind a veil and gave her a new identity.

This novel is so full of surprises and it moves so fast that you'll find yourself lagging and working to catch up with the plot line. Definitely one of my favorite books.

Day 2: Your favorite book

My favorite book changes from time to time, but it's safe to say Prisoner of Azkaban (POA) is my all time favorite. Sadly it's too thin, but I've read it more times than the rest of the books. The thing I love about POA is: the Marauders era. These are the Marauders:

This book is particularly my favorite because it shares a lot of information about who Harry is, what happened to his family, and it ties some loose ends like who actually betrayed Harry's parents that led to their own death. Some people like this book because it's dark, but I like it because it has hope, since Harry found that he still has a family, his godfather Sirius (Padfoot), and this family is willing to sacrifice everything for him.

My second favorite book is The Half Blood Prince,especially because it revolves around my favorite character. ;)

p.s - on the other hand I'd like to say that the POA movie is the suckiest of all. They screwed up a lot of things that if you've never read the book, you wont get what's going on in the movie.

Day 1: Discuss how you got into Harry Potter

The first HP movie came out in 2001 when I was 13 and like most kids, I really loved that movie. Harry's journey to the magical world was like my own, getting to know what's in it, the people in it, what magic can do, learning spells and how to fly, and Quidditch! It was fascinating. And then the second movie came out and I discovered the fourth HP book in my cousin's room not long after. I tried reading it, and of course I was hooked, I finished the thickest novel I had ever read in 2 days.

And then I started fangirling with my cousin, I had a crush on Draco Malfoy (still have) and found friends who shared the same interest. So how can I not get into Harry Potter as much as I am now?

Anyone, anyone who reads the book cant not love the whole Harry Potter universe. JK Rowling is just that brilliant.

Deception Point - Dan Brown

Deception Point ni buku first Dan Brown yang aku baca yang tak de character Robert Langdon, tapi buku ke-4 Dan Brown yang aku penah baca. Seriously die maybe dah naik pangkat jadi my second favorite author (First JK Rowling, forevah) menggantikan Chuck Palahniuk. Deception Point ni bukan novel baru, tapi aku bli gak sebab Dan Brown yang tulis, and it's also just like his other books, a real page turner. Bila start cannot stop, membuatkan aku beberapa malam tak boleh tido sebab nak habiskan novel ni. Bak kate The Washington Post, 'unputdownable'.

Okay, rase dah cukup dah mengampu Dan Brown, aku nak citer sikit pasal plot die. Masa beli novel ni, aku cuma baca summary kat kulit belakang, dia takde mention yang novel ni ade kaitan dengan politik. Aku tau aku tak penah cakap pasal politik dalam blog ni/kat facebook/twitter. Bukan sebab aku tak ambik tau, cume aku tak selesa nak bincang hal tu kat INTERNET. Dia berkaitan dengan Senator Sexton yang nak mengalahkan imaginary US president bernama Zach Herney dalam pilihanraya dengan menjadikan budget NASA yang terlau tinggi dan menghabiskan duit rakyat sebagai isu. Ini minor plot je.

The whole book is about apa yang certain individu sanggup buat demi selamatkan NASA dari di-privatized: iaitu memasukkan meteorite palsu yang mengandungi fossil yang sangat besar ke dalam ice kat arctic, pastu buat2 macam NASA yang discover, dan membuktikan bahawa ada hidupan di angkasa lepas, dan jugak membuktikan betapa salahnye Sexton bila dia kata NASA patut tutup je.

Roughly novel ni macam tu la, aku tak pandai nak summarized tanpa quoting the whole book. Apa yang aku suka pasal buku ni:

banyak dialog lucu dan sarcastic antara saintis2 yang mengkaji meteorite tu
technologies yang dan bown claim sebagai something yang real, bukan dibuat2. kagum gila dengan teknologi mereka. bila kita boleh kejar?

Aku reccomend sangat novel ni pada orang yang suka novel Dan Brown yang lain. Walaupun buku ni was written before Robert Langdon punya era, dia tetap sharp and witty macam yang lain. Very awesome.

Woot. Topic post macam hangat gitu, like I've just gotten a random epiphany that can change my life and shape my future or something. And before you ask, no, I never had a sudden realization about what I should've been doing in my life, I've always been the 'go-with-the-flow' kind of girl.

Kenapa aku kata 'I don't like change'?

Aku tak suka perubahan (cepuk kang, tu la maksud 'I don't like change') sebab aku bukan orang yang cepat adapt dengan sesuatu keadaan. Aku ambik masa nak sesuaikan diri, terima perubahan tu.

'But I despise consistency'.

Kalau sesuatu benda tu tak berubah, asyik samaaaa je, bosan jugak kan? I get bored pretty quickly, to be honest. It's not something I'm proud about. Bagi sesuatu keadaan, bagus kot untuk boring cepat, contohnya bila bekerja. Kalau tak nak buat kerja yang sama, mesti berusaha nak naik pangkat kan? Tu something yang produktif la yang datang dari perasaan cepat bosan.

Tapi bila pasal cari suami (contoh ni takde kena mengena dengan yang hidup atau yang sudah meninggal dunia), dah bosan dengan suami ni, cari baru. Bosan lagi, cari lain lagi. Kan tak baik tu. Kekeekekekeke.

Berbalik pada topik asal.. aku cume describe perasaan aku pada blog ni je. Sejak dia di-create, tak tau brape kali dah tuka ~~baju~~ layout. Penat bila nak tuka layout ni, tapi nak buat macamane kan, dah bosan dengan layout lama..

The Deathly Hallows (SPOILER ALERT)

~~Slalunye time ni tengok juvana, tapi mak nak tengok tilawah, pastu TV kat atas kecik macam tak puas je nak tengok (ngomel jap)~~

Semalam aku, Ety ngan Ain KZ gi tengok the last HP movie, HP and The Deathly Hallows Part 2. 10 tahun lepas mase the first movie keluar, aku tak sangka aku akan sangkut dengan cerita ni sampai ke tua ni. Aku still tak sangka series ni has come to its end. End. Hujung. Lepas ni takde lagi dah.

Deathly Hallows part 2 can easily be the best HP movie.

The scene during the Hogwarts battle is pretty epic, although aku mengharap diorang tunjuk macamane sorang2 lawan macam dalam buku instead of emphasizing ape yang McGonagall buat untuk protect the castle (tapi McGonagall memang awesome) and then the scene masa Harry/Hermione/Ron balik ke Great Hall and discovered that Fred, Lupin and Tonks died. THAT SCENE IS SUPER HEARTBREAKING IF YOU DIDNT CRY WATCHING IT YOU HAVE NO HEART. Oh and scene mase Snape kena bunuh ngan Voldy! Jahat gile Voldy, aku benci mamat takde hidung tu.

Overall, thanks to David Yates, the movie is great. Mind blowing, in fact. But I still have some things that I wish had been in the film:

1. Harry/Voldy banter during Voldemort's death, mase tu harry mengapi2 Voldy and called him Tom, and cakap all these things yang memang mencucuk Voldy. Dalam movie harry still nampak bodoh2 and dia dapat bunuh voldy tu macam nasib baik je.

2. the end scene, diorang tak tunjuk anak Lupin n Tonks, Teddy!

3. More detail on the Hogwarts Battle. Drama Ron masa the trio travel cari horcruxes patut dikurangkan. nyampah jek tengok ron tu.

4. Dumbledore's sister, she deserves a little bit about her in the movie, not just as the picture frame that brought Neville to Hog's Head.

After all that ramble, I leave you with this:

Dah lama nak update blog ni, tapi sejak duduk kat rumah ni rase macam takde idea nak blogging kat sini. Bila duduk rumah banyak mase nak catch up dengan bandom, so blog kat livejournal la yang aktif. Baru-baru ni je aktif semula menggodeh blogger sebab aku ngan 2 orang kazen aku baru je bukak blogshop, jual baju2 kurung yang dah siap and preloved items. Mase kazen aku ajak mule2 aku macam skeptikal jugak, sebab dah banyak blogshop kat mesia ni kan, tapi sebab kat rumah ni aku tak de keje lain selain mengadap laptop (bukan men twitter je, ok, saye design baju korporat n cari soalan latihan untuk budak2 tusyen) aku pun fikir, why not? Ape salahnye cari duit lebih ~~utk tgk movie last harry potter/gi konsert incubus~~ sebelum start blaja balik bulan 9 ni kan?

Sape yang tengok MTQ peringkat kebangsaan tiap2 malam sepanjang minggu lepas mesti kenal Pn Hjh Suraya ni, sebab dia johan qariah. Ustazah Suraya ni satu taman dengan aku, dekat je rumah die. First time jumpa die, aku ingat lagi, mase tu dia buat kenduri doa selamat sebab nak gi haji. Rumah die cantik, (bentuk same la macam rumah aku tapi perabot die cantik la, huhu) orang nye pun cantik. Tapi aku dah lame tak jumpe die kot, sejak aku balik ni takde orang buat kenduri ke ape kat taman ni~

Suare dia memang sedap, tapi ni first time dia dapat jadi wakil Johor sebab qariah johor ramai yang memang terer2 (mak aku la cakap), maybe kalau die masuk negeri lain dah lame dia bleh jadi wakil mesia kot. (Actually dia orang negeri sembilan tapi dah dok johor. haha orang negeri jgn marah na.)

Teaching is definitely not for everyone

At least not for me

Dah 3 minggu kat rumah, aku still lagi dok marathon TV shows, makan, men game. Macam orang antisocial duduk rumah, bila parents ajak gi kenduri kawen pon tak mau ikot. Belum puas kot duduk rumah, ye la, lebih kurang 10 tahun hidup aku kat hostel kan, biar la aku nak melepak kat rumah 3 4 bulan. Di samping tolong ety market kedai dia (tak brape jalan pon pasal aku malas kekekeke), aku jadi cikgu tusyen.

Citer die bermula macam ni.

2 minggu lepas, ety blanje kitorang makan seafood sebab dia dapat bonus. Kat kedai tu terjumpa pulak jiran kitorang (selang 3 4 rumah je pun) yang merupakan cikgu skolah rendah aku. Anak2 dia blaja ngaji ngan mak aku, so memandangkan aku dah habis blaja dan tak de plan pape lagi, dia minta tolong aku ajar anak dia maths. UPSR je pun, bukan susah. Aku pun mengiyakan je la.

Stakat ni baru 3 kali dia datang blaja. Last week dia ada exam tengah tahun, so bila cek2.. aku kira dapat la C kot. Susah hati aku tengok, maths UPSR dapat C, sebab dia ni bukan skolah sebarang2, skolah kat bandar kan. Mesti dah exposed to macam2 teknik menjawab la, ape la.

Berbalik pada topik harini. Aku serious tak enjoy ngajor ni weh. Maybe sebab aku tak blajar teknik mengajar yang berkesan ke ape, tapi actually harini ade tusyen. Patut anak murid kot mengeluh sebab kena gi kelas tusyen. Tapi aku yang rase so very not looking forward to it. Hadoi. Malasnye nak ngajor malam ni.

I was emo before emo was cool

I was barely 14 when I found this book in the school library- Beyond the Chocolate War by Robert Cormier. The book was old and battered, but not from being read, just because it's been sitting in the shelf for too long. There weren't a lot of novels in the library, but I've found a few great ones. I remembered a couple: A Dangerous Education and The Passion Flower.

Beyond the Chocolate War had a weird cover which wasn't very appealing, but it wasn't like I had a lot of choices, so I read it, basked in it and when I finished it, I was addicted to it.

I was addicted to the antagonist to be exact, Archie Costello. The book was written before I was born, so I think it's safe to say that the emo term wasn't very popular, but this character defines it. He's not emo in the physical term; with super-long bangs falling over his eyes, thick coals rimming his eyes, or black clothes. No. But his acts defines the emo term. But that's only my opinion.

The book was from his Sidekick's POV. Obie. So I never knew what Archie's thinking. I would love to get into his mysterious head. Scratch that, I would kill to get inside his head. He's unpredictable. Archie doesn't use drugs, he loves Hershey's. Obie likes that about him. I always thought there's some kind of sexual tension between them (they're both guys, and this is an english novel, and idgaf what you think about gays), because when Obie crushes on this pretty girl from another school, Archie is bothered to an extreme degree.

So Archie appeared to me to have such a mighty composure that I wanted to be him. Hence my emo phase started. By that time I wasn't sure what emo is, even, but now that I think about it, that book made me an angry person inside. I remembered that when I wanted to do something, I would think 'what would Archie do?' every time. I was obsessed, I even wrote my diary (blog was like, haven't existed in my life at that time ahaha) like I was writing to Archie. It felt great, like I had someone to talk to, someone I look up to.

Shut up, I was young.

And years later, the emo exploded with the trademarked look and all. And I felt easier to express myself.

I was lucky to find a cure, I think. I never regretted the emo phase that I went through. I met a lot of interesting friends, I learned a lot from people, I was judged, I was liked, I grew up. But I'm also glad when I found something that made me happy again, and since then I looked at the world in a whole different way. Not gonna lie, sometimes I sunk back into that emo phase, hell, everyone does, one way or another. I'm not ashamed of those times, because everyone changes.

p.s. - Maybe I'll talk about the happy change some other time. It feels great to write properly again, and not just some random entry that I put together in a matter of seconds. This is why I have a blog at the first place, to speak out my mind.

Selesai dah first paper for this semester.. Tajuk Khas dalam Sinaran Perubatan. Rasa bahagia amat paper ni dah lepas sebab subjek reading semata2 ni memang aku slow sikit. Even kuar balik soalan test pun aku jawab macam lampi2 sebab tak hafal ape2 yang patut dihafal la.

Satu benda menarik dalam paper tadi.. soalan esei dalam dwibahasa. So ade la bahasa melayu dia kan. Tetibe ternampak satu perkataan yang pelik. MENGSUPERPERKONDUKSIAN. English die superconducting. Sape amek sains stream masa SPM konpem penah dengar je perkataan superconducting ni dalam subjek kimia dulu. Tapi still, aku rasa macam salah je mengsuperperkonduksian ni..?

Aku tak jawab la soalan ni sebab ~~ragu2 maksud mengsuperperkonduksian~~ aku tak ingat la ape advantage ngan disadvantage jenis2 magnet dalam soalan tu. Heheheh.

p.s. - entahla, dari 3 modalities yang kitorang blaja for this subject - MRI, CT scan ngan PET - aku paling suke MRI even susah gile nak faham theory die. Macam cool je MRI ni.

Semalam internet agak slow sampai terpaksa bukak gmail html, and then gmail bagi notif suruh upgrade browser. Pastu pulak Hakimchanz post status kat googletalk pasal Firefox 4 ni. Lepas make sure FF4 bukan hoax macam Gmail Motion (hahahaha sapela yang kena april fool tu ek?), aku pun download..

First impression aku:

Er.. gayat nye tabs die.
Apesal macam biase tengok layout ni ek? Ohhhh ade rupe google chrome.
Laju la jugak.. cepat je die exit bile aku tertutup -___-"

Okay, aku dah tak guna google chrome dah setahun jugak kot, sebab dulu2 aku amat benci bila dia asyik kuar muka crash yang menyampah tu:

jadi aku tak sure la kalau interface FF4 ni same ngan chrome. Hopefully die tak kua muka crash yang menyampah ni la ye. And then button stop dengan reload die dah combined jadi macam chrome jugak. Tension jek sebab stop button tu aku dah biase dok seblah kiri.

Overall dalam 2-3 jam sejak aku guna FF4 ni.. boleh la bagi 3 stars.

Bumi kita ni salah satu planet dalam solar system kita. Imagine kalau solar system ni (matahari dan planet2 yang mengorbit matahari tu) besarnya 1millimeter, the milky way ni diameternya approximately 100km!

Let's do some maths. *geek mode*

Distance across solar system, termasuk pluto (total 9 planets)(tak kira, pluto is still a damn planet!) = 0.0013 light year

So, kalau solar system = 1mm, kita anggap 1mm = 0.001 light year (round up jadi 0.001 biar senang kira)

Therefore 1 light year = 1 meter

Ramai cakap: "The Milky Way is about 100000 light years across."

Jadi, ambil balik assumption 1 light year = 1 meter, milky way = 100,000 meters across = 100 km across!

Balik semula pada solar system = 1mm. Tu keseluruhan solar system, bukan bumi. Brape micron je kot bumi, apetah lagi kita?

Finished The Lost Symbol this morning.

I think I love it more than The da Vinci's code and Angels & Demons. It still dwells in the infamous Masonry brotherhood, but I was more interested in Noetic Sciences that was mentioned in the book. It's real. It's pretty much against the things that we currently believe in, but it's always so interesting to look at the world from other people's perspective. After all, our ancestors wouldn't believe that the earth is a sphere and there's a superforce called gravity to hold all the water in the sea from spilling.

It's a great book, I would totally pick it up again when I have the time.

It's Dacre Stoker's Dracula the Undead's turn according to my list, but I haven't finished Dracula yet, so I think I'm gonna go with Snuff by Chuck Palahniuk.

So as you guys may know by now there's been a horrific 6.3 magnitude (only 5km deep) earthquake in christchurch, new zealand. the death toll is rising (latest was 75) as well hundreds missing. buildings and roads are incredibly damaged and there is liquefaction as well as broken sewers. a sink hole has even developed! so all im asking is for a little support and help!!! of course i dont expect you all to rush and help but everyone would be incredibly grateful including me (especially considering my siblings live there)! please!

Mr. Reduan asked for my PDD graphs today and I haven't done any of it, because a lot was going on last week, and I have to wait for my turn to use the film scanner, yada yada yada. He said that I was just making excuses, and if this is my attitude, then how am I gonna finish my project in time? He was right. I gotta admit that. But it hurts when I have to hear it from him. I felt like I disappointed him in some ways, and I'm so mad at myself for doing that. Truth is, I don't have the energy and motivation to carry on with it.

The application for coursework and mixed mode for postgrad will be closed on march 31st, and I still haven't made my decision. I haven't decided:

which course I want to take

I've been a student for almost 17 years (that includes the kindergarten!) which means, I've been doing this almost as long as I've lived. I understand that we do learn things even when we aren't in school anymore, especially in our field, where the technology is still evolving. Scratch that, will always evolve. And I do understand that learning is an ibadat. I'm just tired of the idea of being a student. The lecture notes, the exams. I'm sick of those.

On the other hand, I still dont want to have to go find a job, pay my own bills, pay taxes and do other adult things. I don't think I'm ready for that. But still, one of these days it's gonna hit me that I will finally have to decide for my own future, and it's gonna hit me hard.

Actually, aku baru je borak dengan member2 beberapa hari yang lepas pasal sekarang ni, nak gam kasut pun kadang2 sampai 10 ringgit. Kalau jahit lagi mahal. Tibe2 harini terbaca pulak dalam Utusan Malaysia:

ALOR SETAR 18 Feb. - Siapa sangka seorang tukang kasut boleh memperoleh pendapatan hampir sama dengan pegawai kerajaan, malah mungkin lebih tinggi daripada gaji seorang kakitangan yang berkelulusan ijazah.

Tinjauan Bernama di Jalan Selamat, di tengah-tengah bandar raya Alor Setar, mendapati rata-rata tukang kasut di situ memperoleh pendapatan antara RM2,000 dan RM5,000 sebulan.

Terdapat sekurang-kurangnya 12 tukang kasut mencari rezeki di situ dan setiap tukang kasut mempunyai pelanggan tetap.

Seorang tukang kasut yang ditemui, Ahmad Mohtar Baharom, 54, berkata, dia kini memperoleh pendapatan kira-kira RM5,000 sebulan hanya dengan mengambil upah membaiki kasut.

Dia berkata, tidak ramai yang percaya dengan pendapatan yang mampu diperolehinya itu kerana masyarakat beranggapan pendapatan mereka hanyalah umpama ‘kais pagi makan pagi, kais petang makan petang’.

"Sebelum ini saya bekerja dengan kerajaan tetapi disebabkan saya tidak boleh bekerja di bawah arahan orang, jadi saya berhenti kerja dan memulakan perniagaan ini secara serius.

"Berbekalkan kemahiran membaiki kasut yang ada semasa belajar di universiti dulu, saya memulakan perniagaan membaiki kasut, walaupun pada masa itu pendapatan yang saya terima hanya sekitar RM30 sehari.

"Saya sentiasa berfikiran positif dan berani menerima cabaran untuk memastikan kerjaya itu mencapai kejayaan. Saya tidak berputus asa dan meneruskan juga pekerjaan ini sehingga hari ini,” katanya ketika ditemui di sini.

Ahmad Mokhtar yang merupakan graduan Diploma Seni Bina dari Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) dan memiliki Ijazah Seni Bina dari University of Melbourne, Australia berkata, semasa belajar di UiTM, dia bekerja sementara sebagai tukang kasut bagi menampung kos belajar dan mengumpul wang untuk melanjutkan pelajaran di luar negara. - Bernama

Aku discover Twitter lebih kurang 2 tahun lepas. Masa tu baru second year, and masa tu Twitter sangat limited pada posting tweets, direct message, and follow orang. Takde feature @reply or retweet lagi. Button tweet pun tak wujud lagi, masa tu masih guna 'send' sebab perkataan tweet masih tak famous.

Aku kenal ngan twitter pun sebab Pete Wentz letak twitter stream dia kat dia punya tumblr. Bila ramai kaum kerabat Decaydance (recording label di mana ramai artist dia aku minat, seperti p!atd, fall out boy, cobra starship) mula ada Twitter, aku pun sign up sebab nak follow diorang. This was when stalking your favorite celebrity came up to a whole different level. Especially kalau that celeb suka tweeting, everything dia buat kita tau.

So, aku pun menjadi addict dengan Twitter.

Masa tu jugak aku adelah active blogger on Blogspot and LiveJournal. Lama2, bila makin ramai orang guna twitter, blog jadi bersawang, sebab bila blogging, fikir nak edit CSS itu ini padahal nak cerita harini buat apa je, atau pun nak venting pasal benda yang aku tak puas hati (aku bukan blogger tegar mengorek idea untuk entry yang berfaedah, sorry!), so tweeting is the quickest and easiest way. So, pada aku, tu la pros of Twitter. Maklumla, zaman sekarang ni, time is money, ape pun kalau boleh nak buat dengan cepat.

Tapi lama2 aku rindu berblogging. Plus, twitter limits my brain to think only up to 140 characters. I need to vent longer than that! Patut la makin lama makin dungu, neuron2 dalam otak tak sempat bersambung, dah cecah 140 characters.

Sampai sekarang aku still Twitter addict, tapi aku still blogging jugak sebab aku slalu banyak je benda nak cakap. Hehe.

Travelling through the time.

I haven't had a post with 'a penny for your thoughts' label in a while.

So the other day I stumbled upon a time travel fiction, and it got me thinking, if I ever get to travel back, where I'd be going and what would I tell my younger self. I know no one actually has a perfect life, but I think I could do better than what I'm doing now. I'm alone, I have very few close friends in real life, I have no motivation. I've been going blindly after I finished secondary school, I just went with the flow but somehow I ended up here, doing something that I kind of really like.

My family believes in education, and as the youngest I was never pressured to help support the family. I don't have any talent that can promise me a bright future. I get really good results in SPM. So I have no reason to not go to college and get a bachelor's degree. So I went to matriculation. I unsurprisingly got into physical science because my physics result was better than biology. And when I was applying for my degree, my mom told me to take this course I'm doing now because this university is the only one in our country that offers it, and the field is still growing. And I really like modern physics and I think x-ray is really cool. And then I got in. And after 3 years, I never regretted taking this course because I love what I'm learning.

It's just, since I came here, I rarely talk to my old friends. Physics kids usually go to engineering school, not health sciences or medical school. And it's hard to make new friends because most of the people I go to college with have known each other for a long time. It's the only thing that I hate about coming here. It's not like I have zero friends, I do hang out with some people and have fun, it's just, I don't have anyone who knew me since I was a little kid, who really gets me. It feels like I'm all alone in this world.

Sometimes I think of how my life would be if I went for this interview that I was offered when I was 18 and scared and stupid to do engineering in UK. I might not be typing this entry, might not discover bandom and flail at my favorite band's new music video, I might not be this person, but I still dont know if I would like the person that I would become if I went.

Now that I've thought of it, if I ever get to time travel, I'd tell myself to just do what you feel right, life is like a wheel, you can't be on top all the time. When you fall down, you may cry all you want but you have to get up eventually, be brave and start running again.

Mase awal2 kelas dengan Prof Mat dulu, dia suka sebut perkataan German, antarenya Volkswagen la. Adela several perkataan lain tapi aku suda lupa~ tapi dia memang suka sebut Volkswagen, and ajar kitorang cara yang betul nak sebut. Hihi.

Harini cume 15 orang je datang kelas dia ("You all ni berani ponteng kelas dengan dekan, ye?" ayat dia sesuatu ketika dulu) sebab macam2 alasan la. Bus lambat, banjir (padahal aku yang dok johor ni slamat je sampai) so dia tak terus start kelas. Prof Mat duduk kat pc bilik tutor, pastu bukak IE, and search Volkswagen on Google. Dia survey2 kereta baru, macam Polo, Scirocco, Golf, New Beetle. Bila dah takde gaya macam orang lain nak datang kelas tu, dia pun ngajar.

Lepas kelas tamat, dia sambung balik tengok keter kat website Volkswagen Malaysia. Click sane click sini, last2 dia settle kat New Beetle. Dia nak beli kot, siap tengok harga and tanye kitorang colour mana yang cantik. Cute la Prof Mat ni.

Tapi memang cun la New Beetle ni <3 kalau banyak duit macam Prof Mat boleh la rembat sebijik.

26 Januari haritu aku balik rumah sebab cuti midsem sudah bermula. Bila balik rumah, aku memang tak bawa sehelai pun nota sebab kat rumah memang tak study punya. Habit ni dah bermula sejak skolah asrama. Banyak mane pun homework, memang takkan buat kat rumah. No way. Macam ade hantu yang tak bagi aku study kat rumah, ade je benda lain nak buat.

Sejak matrix pulak, datang habit baru bila cuti: main The Sims. Member kat matrix la yang mengajar aku main game hampeh ni sampai satu keje pun tak jadik. Mase tu aku main original The Sims yang tak brape nk best la, ngan Sim City yang zaman dulu kala.

Skarang main Sims 3 yang memang sangat addictive, sampai pukul 3 4 pagi pun aku tak tido, suruh Sims aku buat itu ini. Bila dia tido, aku tengok sampai dia bangun. Tengok dia masak, makan, mandi, memancing, tengok tv, baca buku. Sume la. Bukan stakat tak update blog ni, keje lain pun tak jalan~

Knape aku suke sangat ngan sims ni? Sebab aku buat rupa sims akujadi macam Brendon Urie, Ryan Ross, Gabe Saporta, dan sesape je la yang aku suke so bila main sims, boleh tengok diorang sepanjang masa.

The Ballad of Mona Lisa was leaked earlier today! And the song is so exquisite, the sound, the voice, the style, the drumming (instead of tambourines!!), the lyrics, the everything! I'm in love with it instantly. In my humble opinion, the song sounds dark and dirty but beautiful at the same time. Like a poetry. It's fulfilling. And the music box sound is a perfect finish that gives out the dark vibe to it. This song reminds me of Almost Alice, it'd fit right in that OST.

The Ballad of Mona Lisa

We've been waiting 3 years and a lot have happened during that time. End of the flowery tours, everyone moving from Vegas to LA, cheating on one's girlfriend, the band split, the picture with the cocaine lines, a new band, the new band went hiatus. And finally Panic! at the Disco released a 30 second snippet of their new single the Ballad of Mona Lisa. Dont be fooled by the title, it's not a ballad, but it sure as hell is as epic as a 30 second clip of a song can be!

A lot of people would say that it sounds like their first album, of course it's nothing like Pretty. Odd., but I think it sounds more like New Perspective, their single from Jennifer's Body soundtrack. It's more like Brendon and Spencer, instead of Brendon, Spencer and Ryan plus Jon.

Point is, I still love this band, version 2.0 or not. Only Panic! fan will ever get this post. The end.

6 ways to improve your short attention span

I always have trouble finishing my work on time, especially if it involves doing something on the laptop because my laptop is 100% source of my entertainment. One minute I was reading something off a journal, the next I was replying to a tweet or putting up a new playlist on iTunes. I don't know if anyone else has the same problem, but after googling for about an hour, I found an article that ~~doesnt mention bullshits about meditation~~ caught my interest.

1. Decrease your fat and sugar intake - Even if you're not diabetic, too much sugar can affect your body and your mind. High levels of sugar can leave you easily distracted and can make it hard for your mind to process information.

2. Stay hydrated - Not only can not drinking enough water leave you sluggish, but your brain needs that hydration to keep you thinking clearly. Aim to get your recommended eight glasses of water daily. Keep a bottle full at your desk to sip throughout the day. If the thought of plain water doesn't appeal to you, try some of the flavored waters on the market, many with no calories and sweetened with Splenda or other sugar substitutes. Low sugar juices are okay for hydration as well. (<-- good idea, i just hate plain water)

3. Increase your physical activity - A regular workout routine helps your physical well being but it can also help with your mental well being. Some experts believe this is because lowered blood pressure and better circulation help the brain function better as well. Another reason is that emotional well being is triggered by endorphins released from vigorous physical activity. If depression is having an effect on your daily concentration, exercise can counteract it, leaving you more focused and ready to tackle tasks both at home and at work.

4. Do puzzles in your free time - Sometimes we lose our focus because we don't use our mind enough. Crosswords, sudoku, and word searches are standard types found in magazines and newspapers. Any puzzle that makes you think is good for keeping your mind sharp, and the process of solving them will help hone your concentration skills.

5. Check your medications - Though you'll want to check with your doctor on this one, the medications you take can make your mind fuzzy and put you into a state of decreased concentration.

6. Take your vitamins - Take a regular multi-vitamin to keep your mind in working order as well as your body. Certain herbal remedies on the market claim to help sharpen your concentration, so talk to your doctor to see if any of these might be right for you. Sometimes something as easy as taking a daily iron pill or other form of vitamin can be just the thing you need to get your focus back on track.

Dalam 26 orang student 4th year medical radiation usmkk sesi 2010/2011 ni, ade beberapa orang yang famous ngan sikap kekalutan diorang. Paling famous Hanim ngan Yanti. Tehah Asmui macam secondary sikit la kalau compare ngan dua orang ni. Tapi sebab diorang dah biasa macam ni, orang dah anggap macam satu perkara yang normal.

Aku rase aku duduk dalam golongan yang cool a.k.a. lemau dan lambat pick up sikit. Tapi harini terbukti bahawa sume orang ade kekalutan tersembunyi dalam diri masing2.

Lunch time tadi gi jumpa en. fahmi nak suh dia baca intro. Aku pun pegi jumpa kat cafe. Dia tanya, 'Intro je? Literature review?' Aku ckp belum buat lagi.

Then dia baca baca baca baca n komen komen komen. Finally dia kata ok, just edit menda yang dia komen je. Aku pun rasa lega.

Bila aku nak gerak, dia tanya, 'Literature review bila boleh bagi?'

Aku pun dengan sengal nye meramble depan dia, cakap pasal minggu ni aku tak start kutip data lagi neng nong neng nong (actually nak explain bahawasanya aku tak busy minggu ni and aku boleh bagi dengan cepat kot) sampai die snap kat aku 'Literature review ni bila boleh bagi?'

Aku dengan tergezutnye menjawab, 'Minggu ni boleh kot!' Harini hari rabu la makcik, esok dah khamis. hari jumaat negeri ni cuti, ok???

En. fahmi pun mcm nak gelakkan aku dan cakap, 'Minggu depan pun boleh.'

Lepas tu bila aku beredar pergi, boleh pulak tertinggal enset kat meja en fahmi Dengan muka dah tebal 9 inci, aku pun pegi amek..

Ok. Tamat la cerita kekalutan aku. Lepas ni nak gi gantung diri kat pokok lalang. /o\

Last week I put together a few songs into an exquisite playlist in my iTunes that I call 'Time Travel'. It's a compilation of songs from the 21st century that sounds like music in the 60's and 70's. I must say that I'm a huge fan of music that sounds more or less like the Beatles; they have fast beats but unnecessarily rock-ish or headbanging-ish or dance-ish. They pretty much soothes the soul.

Ehehe. Don't worry, I'm totally straight!

Harini aku rase tak rajin pulak nak mengkaji asal usul perkataan straight tu digunakan sebagai antonim pada homosexual. Nak cakap teori sendiri nanti lari pulak dari point sebenar entry random ni. Tapi nak clarify kat sini that aku memang don't swing that way lah!

Yang sebenar-benarnye, tajuk entry ni bukan la menunjuk pade orang [spoil jek kannn] tapi pada film response curve untuk aku punye FYP. Sepatutnye curve ni linear pada range dose yang aku guna, tapi bila dah amek data, ade bonggol2 la pulak pada graf aku.

Patutnye macam ni la.. tak la linear sangat tapi straight.
Camni la curve yang aku dapat (biru). Adui~ maybe kena scan balik film2 haritu :/

Graf yang aku buat ni name nye ialah calibration curve, nama pun curve, patutla dia tak nak straight kan? Identity crisis betul..

Penmanship and personality: how true is it?

I'm sure a lot of people are already familiar with Dr Fadzilah Kamsah's interpretation (if not, you can find it here) but this morning I found a brochure for a talk by Khadijah Ibrahim, a certified handwriting analyst, and found an interesting interpretation.

Okay, so. I do write d like that. Usually lengkungan tu kecil je, sometimes tak melengkung pun. But still, I'm pretty sensitive about my appearance/penampilan. I mean, bukan la I'm sensitive bila orang kata kaler baju dengan seluar tak match, tapi sensitive in term of, like, I want to appear my age, or appear professional during internship, something along that line.

And then, 'pujian dan kata-kata semangat akan menaikkan semangat mereka dan membuat mereka gembira'. Of course la kan siape tak suka.

p.s. - ni nota masa kelas monitor unit calculation pagi tadi, tulisan time tak de control2 ni la sesuai untuk interpret [crappy camera phone is crappy]

What does a lame girl do when the clock struck 12 at midnight of 1.1.11? Play lame PC game on her laptop. Yep, that's what I was doing when I heard fireworks from god knows where and realized that 2010 has left for good.

I'm not big on new year celebration since my english teacher in my 2nd(? I think 2nd) year told the class about the true meaning or what's behind a new year celebration.

From wikipedia:

January is named after Janus (Ianuarius), the god of the doorway; the name has its beginnings in Roman mythology, coming from the Latin word for door (ianua) – January is the door to the year.

So, celebrating new year is almost like we're celebrating this Roman god. I don't know how true this is (about celebrating new year equals to celebrating the god), and it's probably just an opinion, but anyway, new year celebrations had been lame since forever to me.

To reduce the degree of lameness, I got an award from my cousin, Yati!

This award came with some questions, I think (kalau tak pun, layan je la ye, Yati..)

Goodbye 2010!

Nothing particular to talk about.. Just posting for the sake of the last post of the year 2010. Have you guys fulfilled your resolutions for this year? Kalau belum, shame on you! :P As for me, I didn't made any but one: which is to be better. In some ways, I did fulfill that resolution.

For 2011, mine will still be the same. Easy to remember and maybe a little easy to fulfill also. It's very general, can be taken into any perspective, such as, just trying to eat healthier. Maybe I'll try to be better in school too, or my relationship with my family. Better doesn't mean the best, right? So it's easy.

There's no rules in making your NYR, right? :) It's about yourself, who cares about what others might think?

p.s. - i dont know what this song actually means, but to me it fits in how i feel about leaving 2010 :)
